As a Design Professional, Yukari Kubo has provided services for a wide breadth of public and private clients. Her exposure from beginning to end of projects in both supporting and lead roles has proven her to be a good listener and effective presenter. Yukari’s passion for architecture lies in the intersection of sustainability, climate change, social equity and design. She believes that through the integration of new and old technologies and design strategies we can create healing spaces that promote our connection to the ecological systems and can help change people’s habits to live more sustainably. As a Co-Chair of YGH’s Sustainability Committee, Yukari is involved in helping the firm with product research and coordination efforts towards meeting AIA 2030 Commitment goals, reducing the firms carbon footprint and creating a library of products that help the firm specify healthier materials. Yukari has degrees in Environmental Science, Environmental Management and a Master of Architecture. She is a member of the Materials Transparency Collaborative and The Climate Reality Project. In her free time, Yukari is an avid runner, enjoying half marathons and running relays with friends. An outdoor adventurer, she enjoys bike-camping, boating, hiking and working on home improvement projects with her family.
