Dave Johnson has been working in the architectural field since the early 1980’s and became a licensed Architect in 1990. His work has been mostly institutional, from public schools in rural Utah, to healthcare ranging from individual offices, mid-size clinics, hospital remodels to concept design of medical schools and 500 bed hospitals in the Middle East. As a Project Architect, his recent work has included several parking structures and large infrastructure projects at the Portland International Airport. Dave is proud of two award winning projects over his career: a cafe in a healthcare facility received a top award from a national restaurant association and a recent parking structure project received a design award from the American Concrete Institution. He has seen the evolution of architectural design from hand drafting with a wood pencil, through AutoCAD to Revit and back to hand sketching on an iPad. He has a Master of Architecture and BA in Philosophy from the University of Utah and is licensed in Utah and Oregon. On a weekly basis, Dave is dedicated to volunteering his time in his community with a local non-profit.
